Irving High School Chemistry

Welcome to the Irving High School Chemistry site. This is the official site for sharing ideas, giving feedback, or for just posting any positive communication and collaboration you might have. As members of the Chemistry Team you will have the ability to view and edit the contents of this website, although, as organizer and facilitator of the site I will take the liberty to edit for the sake of brevity and appearance. As I tell my students, I’m not infallible but do try to keep any rants and raves off the site proper and I will address your concerns one on one. The test for appropriate posts are based simple courtesy, keep it positive and in the vain that you wouldn’t object if it were posted to you personally. This is a work in progress and as time goes by you will get the hang of the protocol. The site will be added to, deleted from, or otherwise be modified on a regular basis, based on what is going on in the program. For those of you new to wikiing there is a cool little video that can be found at http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=wikis+in+plain+English&search_type= . Take time to watch it. We will also have an agenda page for sharing information on meetings. Since this site is currently being made available to the entire Chemistry Team, I also encourage you to make suggestions for the site itself. I think you are going to find this a pretty cool way of collaborating so don’t hold back. Participate freely. I’ll help everyone stay on track until we get the hang of things. Keep in mind that whatever gets worked out on the site doesn’t have to take up everyone’s time in a scheduled meeting. We all know how valuable and in short supply our time is. I know of some organizations where wikis are their only meetings but I still like the opportunities to visit face to face.
